Unbeatable value for guitar setups, repairs and servicing  in Maidstone

No matter if your guitar is new or older at some point you are going to need the guitar properly setup, serviced, or repaired. A lot of guitars that are bought online, for example, have strings which are very high above the fretboard and this makes it very hard to hold chords down and play in tune.

I have been setting up guitars for 20 years and believe that "Guitar Lessons Maidstone - Repair Shop "  offers the best value for money anywhere in Maidstone.

Below are some of the kinds of services that I offer.

Changing Strings

Of all the adjustments that can be made to a guitar, perhaps the simplest and the most important is changing the strings. Over the last 20 years, this is the one thing that could have improved the sound of the guitars I have seen most easily and cheaply. Old strings lose their brightness and make the guitar sound dull. They also look dark and make the guitar lose its shine.

PRICE FOR A NEW SET OF STRINGS FITTED TO YOUR GUITAR £12.50.

Lowering the action

Over the years the one thing that has helped my students improve quicker is by lowering the string height. Many of the guitars that come onto the market have strings that are simply too far away from the fretboard and this makes it much more difficult to hold the chords down and also makes the guitar play out of tune.

As a professional guitarist, this is the one thing that I home in on straight away. I play a lot of lead guitar and therefore want the actions on my guitars to be as low as possible without buzzing.

Below is a picture of one of my Jazz guitars and you can see the kind of height that your guitar should have.

PRICE FOR ADJUSTING THE ACTION £17.50.

Cleaning the Frets

Quite often one of the first things that you will notice on a guitar is that the frets are very dirty. This can happen for a number of reasons:-

1. The guitar has been in storage for a long time.

2. The guitar has been in a shop hanging and the frets have just got tarnished.

3. The guitar has been played a lot and has never been cleaned.

All these reasons make the guitar look old and unloved. If you want to have gleaming frets on your guitar simply bring it along and I will clean and polish them till they sparkle!

PRICE FOR CLEANING AND POLISHING THE FRETS £12.50.
